Today at 2.30 PM IST, hearing started at Supreme Court regarding the ongoing National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) matter. Different States presented their arguments in this matter and there was intense speculation among medical students regarding the fate of NEET.

Students, teachers, educationalists and parents thronged social media portals to get live updates on this issue.

Advocate Tushar Mehta, representing Gujarat started the arguments by showing the question papers in Gujarati and English, and asked the Court how will a student who has read only in Gujarati will attempt questions written in English?
As we live tweeted the arguments presented by Tushar, our Twitter account started receiving comments, opinions and reactions at a blazing rate.

After Prashant Bhushan entered the scene, and started presenting his arguments, our Tweets received more responses, and comments. In one the Tweets, we reported that Prashant Bhushan has requested the Court to cancel May 1st exam, and all students be allowed to appear for July exam. This single Tweet received 89 re-tweets.

After Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir presented their case, followed by Maharashtra.

Overall, we sent 46 tweets, which summarized the hearing today.
