The Central government postponed the common medical test- National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for a year. Today, Union Cabinet approved promulgation of the ordinance in a meeting. Now State boards can conduct their own exams for a year. Supreme Court had ordered to conduct single medical entrance test- NEET across the country. Many states opposed this. After this, ordinance to postpone the common medical test for a year was approved. Counsel Amit Kumar, who filed plea in favor of NEET, is willing to knock the doors of the Supreme Court on 26th July against the Ordinance. Many states are against the decision of the Supreme Court on NEET. Supreme Court had ordered to conduct NEET for MBBS and BDS in the year 2016-2017. First phase of the exam was on 1st may and second phase will be conducted on 24 July. Supreme Court had rejected states’ appeal for a separate entrance test.
