The Delhi High Court on Friday (December 1) told former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to settle his marital dispute in a family court.

While disposing of the plea, the bench of Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal directed parties’ counsels to continue their arguments in family court on December 12, 2017 as scheduled without any delay or seeking adjournments.

In his petition, Abdullah has sought directions against the order dated September 9, 2016 of Family Court (Patiala House) pertaining to the maintenance of his estranged wife Payal Abdullah. Additionally, he has also sought quashing of proceedings against him.
