The National Green Tribunal bench headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar on Thursday (November 30) was informed by the counsel representing NCT Delhi about the Dichao Kalan site.

The counsel submitted that the site is disputed because of the cremation ground situated on it. And the local people of the Valmiki Samaj are not agreeing to settle down the issue.

The bench headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar and comprising of Justices Jawad Rahim and Bikram Singh Sajwan was hearing a matter related with beautification of Yamuna floodplains and controlling of pollution on the floodplains.

The Tribunal directed the counsel to bring the people from the Samaj before the bench. We will ask them if they can shift the cremation ground, the Tribunal told counsel.
