Patiala House court on Tuesday (July 10) extended the protection from arrest to former Union minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti in the Aircel-Maxis money laundering case till August 7.
The court had earlier granted interim protection from arrest till today to Karti in two cases filed by the CBI and ED in the Aircel-Maxis case.
Earlier, P Chidambaram had moved an application contending that the evidences pertaining to the case are all documentary in nature which is already lying with the incumbent government and nothing was to be recovered from him.
