Azam Khan files petition in Allahabad high court against police force deployment in Jauhar University

A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court against the deployment of police force in Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur.

The petition has been filed by former cabinet minister Mohammad Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam through Advocate Nasira Adil.

The petition has sought removal of the police force from the university campus. The presence of police is creating tension in the university campus. The environment of learning is getting worse.

Several allegations have been leveled against the local administration in the petition. It has been said that despite the complaint, the local administration is not removing the police force. Due to which there is an atmosphere of fear in the university. Admission process is on hold. students are unable to study.

In the matter, the cleaning machine of the municipality was found buried under the ground in the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University campus. Along with this, books stolen from Madrasa Alia were also recovered. Since then police have been deployed in the university.

Regarding this, on October 22, the Vice Chancellor of the university had sent a letter to the DM, demanding the removal of the police. After this the police were withdrawn, but then on the midnight of 31 October, the police were deployed in the university. On this, a letter was sent by the university to the Chief Minister, saying that due to the deployment of police in the temple of education, there is an atmosphere of panic among the students. Due to this, new admissions are not taking place in the university and many employees have left their jobs due to fear of police.

The Deputy Registrar has sent a letter to the DM, demanding the removal of the police stationed there. Regarding this, the Registrar had sent a letter signed by 74 employees of the university, but no action was taken by the district administration. After this, the former minister Azam Khan has approached the High Court.
