The CBI in its reply before the Delhi High Court said that the plea by former CBI special director Rakesh Asthana seeking quashing of FIR against him is not maintainable because investigation is at the initial stage.

The court was hearing a plea filed by Asthana and former CBI DSP Devender Kumar seeking quashing of FIR against them in a bribery case.

On the earlier hearings, the court had pulled up CBI and centre for not filing its reply to the plea by Asthana.

The matter will be heard again on Nov 14 till then interim protection to Asthana and Kumar will continue.
