Centre Notifies Appointment Of Judges For Andhra Pradesh HC, Calcutta HC & Telangana HC

The Central Government on Friday notified appointment of High Court judges for the states of Telangana, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

The President of India Shri Ramnath Kovind in exercise of power under Article 217 & 224 of the Constitution and also acting upon the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India has made following appointments:-

  • Shri Anirudhha Roy to be additional judge of Calcutta High Court for a period of two years.
  • Shri B. Vijaysen Reddy to be judge of High Court for State Of Telangana.
  • Shri B. Krishna Mohan, Shri K. Suresh Reddy, Smt. K. Lalitha Kumari to be Judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court.  

The Supreme Court Collegium vide its meetings dated 20th April, 2020 has recommended to the President about the above said candidates for elevation as High Court judges for the State of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.

The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 29th January, 2020 has resolved to reiterate its recommendation dated 24th October, 2018 for appointment of Shri Aniruddha Roy, Advocate, as Judge of the Calcutta High Court.
