The Delhi High Court on Monday directed Director General (Prison), Tihar jail and Secretary, PWD to expedite the procurement, installation of CCTV cameras in Tihar jail.

The bench comprising Justices S Murlidar and Vinod Goel also directed Delhi Subordinate Services Board (DSSB) to bring out with a notification for filling up of vacancies in the Tihar jail. Further it also directed Delhi government to fill up the posts of Counsellor in the jail.

The court gave the order on the plea filed by M S Bindi through Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee counsel Harpreet Singh Hora raising concern over the violence against prisoners in Tihar jail.
