Delhi High Court rebukes AAP MLA Vinay Mishra for levelling allegations against RLP MP Hanuman Beniwal

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday strongly rebuked Delhi MLA and Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajasthan election in-charge Vinay Mishra for making controversial statements against RLP MP Hanuman Beniwal.

Justice Anoop Kumar Mendiratta, while hearing the argument of Beniwal’s lawyer Gunjan Kumar, took a strong stand not only on the MLA, but also on AAP, ordering them not to make such statements again.

The Court also directed Twitter India to remove all the tweets related to the matter immediately.

Mishra had accused the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party MP and three of his MLAs of indulging in corruption. Following the allegations, a defamation case was filed.

An FIR had been registered on June 8 against Mishra for his remarks against Nagaur MP Beniwal, for allegedly selling MLAs for Rs 40 crore.

The FIR was registered at Jalupura police station on the basis of a complaint filed by RLP leader Pukhraj Garg.

The RLP took offence at Mishra’s remarks about Beniwal, accusing him of selling his party’s MLAs for Rs 40 crore during the Rajya Sabha elections.

“One Hanuman gave up everything for the sake of Lord Rama. Another Hanuman sold the vote of Lord Rama like the people of Rajasthan for Rs 40 crore. Hey Ram. Ghor Kaliyug, Ghor Kaliyug,” Mishra had alleged.
