Plea Seeking Discloser Director Of Education Orders With Regards to Fee Increase Proposal On Website: Delhi HC Issues Notice

Delhi High Court on Friday has issued a notice on a petition filed seeking direction for the Delhi Government to upload and disclose the order passed by the directorate of education in the matter of fee hike proposals submitted by recognized unaided schools along with last approved fee bifurcation in the school.

A divisional bench of Delhi HC comprising the Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan while hearing the matter through video conferencing has directed the Delhi Government and other respondents to file a reply.

The petition stated that “There is no information in the public domain to show what is last approval fee of any specific school and what was tuition fee bifurcation that year and as result schools are exploiting parents. The parents have no source to verify what the school is demanding what is directed in the government notification.”

The petition has been filed by Justice For All, through Advocate Khagesh B Jha. Mr. Jha submitted before the Court that respondents are duty-bound to upload the orders passed on the official website of the Director of Education.

The plea further stated “…upload orders passed by them while examining the fee increase proposal filed by the recognized unaided schools for mandatory prior sanction as directed by the Supreme Court in para 27 of the Modern School vs Union of India along with the file noting and documents which are base for passing the orders.”
