The Supreme Court on Monday (July 9) asked the Centre to look into a PIL seeking release from jail of 61 Rohingya refugees, jailed under the Foreigners Act.
The PIL said they had remained in jail much beyond the maximum period of two years and should be released.
The top court asked petitioner to give a copy of the plea to the Additional Solicitor General so that a reply can be filed by the Centre.
