The Patiala House Court on Thursday (July 5) granted anticipatory bail to accused MP Shashi Tharoor in the Sunanda Pushkar death case. The Court granted the bail on one lakh surety with another condition that Tharoor will not leave India without the permission.

Tharoor on Tuesday had appealed before the court that the chargesheet filed shows that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had categorically stated that the probe was concluded and that his custodial interrogation was not required.

Delhi Police, however, has opposed this anticipatory bail plea, saying Tharoor might flee the country.
