Supreme Court Collegium recommends 4 advocates, 3 judicial officers for elevation to Rajasthan High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the name of four advocates and three judicial officers for elevation as judges of the Rajasthan High Court.

In its meeting dated September 1, 2021, the Collegium proposed the following names of advocates:

  1. Ganesh Ram Meena
  2. Sudesh Bansal
  3. Anoop Dhand

Besides, names of three judicial officers has also been recommended for elevation to the High Court of Rajasthan. These include Uma Shankar Vyas, Vinod Kumar Bharwani and Madan Gopal Vyas.

Moreover, the Supreme Court Collegium reconsidered and reiterated its earlier recommendation for elevation of Advocate Farzad Ali as Judge in the Rajasthan High Court.

The Rajasthan High Court has sanctioned strength of 50 Judges, which includes 38 Permanent Judges and 12 Additional Judges. 

At present, the Rajasthan High Court is working on half of its sanctioned strength with 23 Judges and there are 27 vacancies. 

The magnificent new building of Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on December 7, 2019. The new building has 22 court rooms. In addition to it, the court buildings at Jodhpur and Jaipur have total 46 Court Rooms.
