The apex court on Monday told Congress MP Sushmita Dev who is seeking action against BJP President Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi for hate speeches to place before it Election Commission (EC) orders on Shah and Modi.

The bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Deepak Gupta adjourned the matter for next hearing to May 8.

At today’s hearing, Dev’s counsel Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi pleaded that the bench lay down certain guidelines so that it will be useful for future elections.
