The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to former Union Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media case being investigated by CBI.

The court granted bail to Chidambaram provided he is not arrested in any other case and on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.

The court also said that he has to make himself available for interrogation and will have to surrender his passport.

Chidambaram is currently in Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody till Oct 24.

The order was passed by the bench comprising Justices R Banumathi, AS Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy.

The court had on Oct 18 reserved its judgment on the bail plea.
