The apex court on Monday (Sep 10) directed Centre to respond to a PIL filed by an NGO, Child Rights Foundation seeking implementation of its guidelines relating to child custody in case of parents undergoing separation.
During the course of proceedings, the petitioner said to the bench comprising Justices Kurian Joseph and Sanjay Kishan Kaul that its guidelines which may prove beneficial to the Judges of the family courts, marriage counsellors and couples who are undergoing separation should be implemented along with the international guidelines on custody.
