The Supreme Court on Thursday extended the interim bail of former BJP leader and strongman D P Yadav after being informed by Yadav’s doctor that he couldn’t be operated upon as he was suffering from viral fever and hence needed to be in the hospital for two more weeks.

The doctor further told the bench of CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, K M Joseph that the surgery would be done on Oct 19.

The bench said that it will review the developments on Oct 23 again.
