The Supreme Court on Friday declined to interfere into Election Commission (EC) order banning the release of biopic on PM Narendra Modi.

EC had earlier told the court that the biopic should be released only after the Lok Sabha elections.

The biopic which stars Vivek Oberoi in the lead had hit the roadblock as EC found it giving leeway to the BJP in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The EC after carefully examining the biopic had found the content of the movie uni-dimensional.

The producers of the movie had contested the EC’s decision of halting the release of the movie claiming that EC did it without watching the movie.
