The Supreme Court has released a press release (see below) saying that a leading daily (name withheld) which published a report stating that two SC judges Justice R F Nariman and Justice D Y Chandrachud met Justice S A Bobde (who is heading the in-house committee looking into allegations of sexual harassment against CJI Ranjan Gogoi) met Justice Bobde on May 3, 2019 to discuss about the ongoing probe against CJI is incorrect.
The press release said: “It is most unfortunate that a leading Newspaper has chosen to state that Justice R.F. Nariman and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud together met Justice S.A. Bobde on Friday evening i.e. on 3rd May, 2019. This is wholly incorrect. The In-House Committee which is deliberating on the issue concerning Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India deliberates on its own without any input from any other Hon’ble Judge of this Court.”
