SC to review petition seeking verification of 50% VVPAT next week

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear review petition filed by 21 opposition parties seeking verification of 50 per cent Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) using voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) slips, next week.

The apex court earlier in its judgment had directed the election commission (EC) to inspect five VVPATs per constituency, against the opposition’s request for verifying 50 per cent for every constituency.

The court had said that this will ensure the best level of correctness and contentment in the election process.

  1. EVM machine has a small 120 kb time triggered code (time triggered – it works one time at a pre-decided day & time) Code generally set to trigger a week before the vote counting followed by its (code’s) self-destruction / deletion. This software code has only one small program to run which is distribute the total number of votes cast into a prefixed ratio %. It is ensured that a) each machine has a different ratio % and a large number of machines should also give lesser number of votes of BJP candidate. But all in all absolute total number of votes put together from all EVM machines should be higher for BJP candidate where it wants him to win. Of course some seats are deliberately lost and some states are also lost to uphold the faith in EVM. After all state budget (for scam) is nothing in comparison to central govt. budget. Sometime code triggering day & time is incorrectly set and code triggers much before and that is how it starts giving all votes to BJP candidate at the time of dry run by polling booth election officer. We have seen innumerable number of incidents where malfunctioning EVMs invariably give all votes to BJP only.
