All the four of the accused in the brutal rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinarian ‘ justice to Disha’ in Telangana have been killed in an encounter (Not in Picture) with the Cyberabad police at Chatanpally near Shadnagar, outskirts of the city in wee hours on Friday.

The Supreme Court  will hear on Wednesday a petition seeking registration of FIR, investigation and action against police personnel involved in the encounter deaths of the four accused in the rape and murder of woman veterinarian in Telangana last week.

The Chief Justice S A Bobde said the court will hear the urgent petition even as the Telangana High was readying to take iup the matter today. The Chief Justice told the petitioner that Telangana High Court has taken up the matter but also agreed to hear the urgent petition. The High court had earlier direct6ed the state government to preserve the bodies of four accused till 8 pm on Monday as the court will take up the matter for hearing.

The court had issued the directive after receiving a petition in the Office of the Chief Justice alleging that the encounter of the four rape-accused was extra-judicial killings.

All the four accused were gunned down by police on Friday morning at Chattanpalli when they were taken to the scene of crime near the culvert beneath of it where the charred remains of the 25-year-old woman veterinarian were found on November 28, to recover her phone, wrist-watch and others pertaining to the case.

The Cyberabad Police had said its personnel resorted to “retaliatory” firing after two of the accused opened fire at police after snatching their weapons besides attacking the latter with stones and sticks, resulting in injuries to two policemen.
