Supreme Court postpones Advocates on Record examination because of Covid-19 surge

The Court has also extended the submission date of application forms to June 30, 2021, till 5 p.m.

The Supreme Court has postponed the Advocates-On-Record Examination 2021, in view of the surge in the number of Covid-19 infected cases across the country.

The Court has also extended the submission date of application forms to June 30, 2021, till 5 p.m. The fresh examination dates will be notified in due course, said the notice issued by the Supreme Court (Recruitment Cell). The advocate on Record was scheduled to happen from 8th to 11th June.

Such notification has also come into effect in pursuant to the letter dated 2.5.2021 forwarded by Hon Secretary, Joseph Aristotle of Supreme Court Advocate on record Association(SCAORA) to Registrar and Secretary, Board of Examiners urged to postpone the Advocate on Record Examination -2021 from June 2021 to December 2021 in view of the prevailing circumstances of the surge in coronavirus.

In the said letter, reference to Rule 1 was made which specifies the Regulation regarding the conduct of AOR Examination. According to rule 1 of Regulations, Such an exam can also be scheduled in December.
