The Supreme Court on Friday deferred the transfer of Unnao rape victim and his lawyer from Lucknow to Delhi after the victim’s family members informed the court that as of now their treatment could continue in the Lucknow hospital.

However, the court ordered the transfer of rape victim’s uncle from Rae Bareli jail to Tihar jail in Delhi.

At today’s hearing, Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta informed the court that the security of the victim and her family members has been given to CRPF.

He further informed the court that the victim’s family don’t want to get victim and his lawyer transferred to Delhi as the lawyer of the victim is still on ventilator and the victim also is still unconscious. Both can be transferred to Delhi once their condition gets stable.

On Thursday, the apex court had transferred all the cases related to Unnao rape and accident to Delhi and ordered the completion of trial within 45 days.
