FIR Against Tablighi Jamaatis For “Roaming Naked, Making Lewd Gestures “ In Hospital

The Uttar Pradesh police have registered an FIR against six members of the Tablighi Jamaat lodged at the Ghaziabad district hospital for walking around the ward naked and making lewd gestures towards the nurses during their quarantine at District Hospital in the city.

The FIR was registered after the Chief Medical Officer of the Hospital  wrote to the police complaining that the Tablighi Jamaati members who are lodged  are often roaming naked in the ward and making lewd gestures at female staff, agencies reported. The CMO has stated that the Jamaatis who are kept in the isolation ward make obscene comments and gestures and play songs  at loud volume and often staff at the hospital are pestered beedis and cigarette.

In various parts of the country, the Jamaatis have been involved in anti-social acts. After attacking medical teams who were searching for Tablighi members for who had attended the religious congregation to check them for possible infection, and spiting on doctors at an Isolation centre, this is their latest act.

Following the increased mob attacks against frontline healthcare workers and policemen engaged in fight against the deadly Coronavirus, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to invoke National Security Act (NSA) against those who attack police personnel anywhere in the state during the nation-wide coronavirus lockdown.

According to the reports, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has issued orders that strict action will be taken under the NSA against mobs who have been indulging in attacks against police, health-workers who have been on the frontline to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
