Instead of shouting, and sitting here, please go to the place and render help and see that Delhi gets water: Chief Justice of India

“It’s an emergency situation. Instead of solving the issue, the minister is sitting in court,” said Chief Justice of India TS Thakur while hearing the writ petition filed by the Delhi Jal Board (vs. Union of India) regarding disrupted water supply from Haryana following Jat agitation.

“Instead of shouting, and sitting here, please go to the place and render help to Haryana government, and see that Delhi gets water,” he chided.

Meanwhile, replying to the petition, the Haryana government assured the court that it will do everything restore water supply to Delhi. The matter was being heard by Justice Thakur, and Justice UU Lalit.

During the proceedings, the court also rapped the Delhi government, for not resolving the water crisis with Haryana directly.

The bench then got irked, and dismissed the petition. After senior advocate Rajiv Dhawan pleaded that the court decided to take it up again.

Union will provide proper security to carryout the repair work. Haryana to submit status report in two days.

Delhi is reeling under severe water crisis as Jat agitators supply to the capital with the quota stir burning the state. CM Arvind Kejriwal also announced holiday in Delhi schools today due to water shortage.
