32 year old Wrestler, 2-time Olympic medallist drags WFI into the Legal-Ring…

32 year old Sushil Kumar, two-time Olympic medallist has challenged selections of Rio Olympics 2016 by Wrestling Federation of India. After Narsingh Yadav, winner of quota slot, was given berth for Rio Games, Sushil Kumar filed a petition at Delhi High Court against this decision.

The hearing started today at Delhi High Court, before Justice Manmohan Singh.

In his petition, Sushil Kumar has argued that Wrestling Federation of India hasn’t followed due procedures in selections for Rio Olympics.

Respondents argued that Sushil Kumar remained absent from training, hence the decision to select Narsingh Yadav via quota policy.

Justice Singh asked the respondents to provide a detailed reply on all issues raised by Sushil Kumar in his petition.
