The National Green Tribunal bench headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar on Monday (December 18) decided to issue notice to Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre Ltd, as well as to the counsel appearing on behalf of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and the state pollution control board regarding an execution application for execution of an order passed by the Tribunal.

The matter is related to management of municipal solid waste and biomedical waste. In the last date of hearing the bench issued prohibitory injunction that no hospital will hand over its bio-medical waste to any ragpickers in any part of the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana.

The bench has asked for full data on how many hospitals are operating in their respective states.

The next date of hearing is on January 25, 2018.
