Former finance minister P Chidambaram, who had earlier in the day received relief from arrest till June 5 in the Aircel-Maxis cased from the CBI court, has also applied for anticipatory bail in the INX Media FIPB clearance matter at the delhi High Court. The matter was listed to be taken up by Justice A K Pathak in the morning but could not be taken up.

Later, on a joint request by senior counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi for Chidambaram and CBI Senior counsel Tushar Mehta, Justice Pathak adjourned the petition.

The matter will be heard tomorrow.

The matter pertains to grant of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to firm Global Communication Holding Services Ltd by P Chidambaram during his tenure as the Finance Minister in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government.
