The Patiala House Court on Tuesday (June 5) extended interim protection to P Chidambaram from arrest till July 10 in the INX Media money laundering case.
The CBI special judge O P Saini has also granted four weeks time to Enforcement Directorate (ED) to file its reply on the anticipatory bail application filed by P Chidambaram.
The next date of hearing is on July 10.
On May 30, the Patiala House Court granted interim protection to Chidambaram from arrest till June 5 from ED. While in the same case, Delhi HC had also granted interim protection to Chidambaram from arrest till July 3 from CBI.
The court has decided to hear both the INX Media cases together. One in which P Chidambaram is involved and in other his son Karti is involved. Both the cases would be taken up for hearing on July 10.
