On an appeal by Colonel Srikant Purohit, who is demanding a ban on the trials on the Malegaon blast, the Supreme Court on Monday (January 29) issued notices to the Maharashtra government and to the NIA.

The court at the same time also gave permission to use the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in the case. Answers have to be given in four weeks.
