Finally, the horrific Katua gang rape and murder case of 8-year-old nomad girl Ashifa has been brought to the notice of the Supreme Court.

A matter related to the case has been mentioned before the bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra. The counsel has requested the bench to take suo moto cognizance.

The bench, however, has told the counsel to bring something on record so that something could be done.
