The Supreme Court on Monday (March 5) has decided to take up the plea seeking CBI probe under the supervision of the apex court into the alleged paper leak pertaining to Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam held on February 21.

The Court will hear the matter on March 12.

SSC aspirants have been sitting on dharna outside the SSC office at CGO complex, New Delhi since February 27 demanding a CBI probe into the alleged paper leak in the Combined Graduate-Level (CGL) exam.

SSC conducts examinations for recruitment in the lower category posts in the Central government.

Meanwhile, the government has ordered CBI probe into the alleged leaks. The move comes after the SSC recommended a CBI inquiry into the alleged paper leaks on March 4.

SSC in a statement had said: “The commission agreed to recommend to the Department of Personnel and Training to request the government to conduct a CBI enquiry into the allegations of leaking of question papers of Paper-I on February 21, and other related issues.”
