The SCBA has an electorate of 1865. There are six contenders for the post of vice president and five for the post of honorary secretary.

They are: Jana Kalyan Das, PP Khurana, Raghava Rao Koka, Manoj Prasad, Anukul Chandra Pradhan, and Jayant K Sud. (See the full list of posts and contesting candidates)

The model code of conduct for SCBA elections prohibits distribution of canvassing material like pamphlets or cards in the Supreme Court premises during the election process. Raising slogans is also disallowed.

On Tuesday, Dec 12, a day before the elections, a debate will be held between the candidates for the post of president and honorary secretary in the Supreme Court lawns where each candidate will be allowed to speak for a maximum of five minutes. All campaigning will be stopped at the end of the debate, said the SCBA election notice.

On polling day, voters present in the queue at 5 pm will be allowed to cast their vote. Counting of votes will start immediately after the end of polling.
