In a seemingly political move – though who would be the beneficiary in this is not clear – HS Phoolka, senior lawyer and Aam Admi Party leader, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to change the CBI team in the Jagdish Tytler case of the 1984 riots.

Phoolka alleged that the CBI was shielding Tytler.

He said that the CBI had grossly failed to collect evidence available against Tytler. Rather, it was collecting evidence only in his favour. He has said that the CBI is working as if it was assigned the job to protect Tytler.
