The Allahabad High Court has directed the Kushinagar Superintendent of Police to present before the Court on February 10 the abducted woman Archana Bharti. The Court has also instructed her alleged husband and petitioner Dilip Prasad to be present in Court.
Justice J.J. Munir gave this order on the plea by Dilip Prasad. His Advocates Jitendra Sarin and Raghavendra Saran Tiwari said Prasad and Archana Bharti got married at the Arya Samaj temple in Ghaziabad. They are both adults and married voluntarily. But Archana’s father Ram Naresh Prasad has filed a false kidnapping case against the petitioner.
The Government Advocate said that the woman has stated in a statement before the magistrate that she does not want to be with the petitioner and the Police has also filed a chargesheet on the kidnapping charge.
The petitioner’s advocates said that she gave the statement before the magistrate under pressure from family. The petition sought quashing of the abduction case. On this, the Court has directed the victim be presented before it.
