Challenge to Board of Secondary Education guidelines rejected by Allahabad High Court

New Delhi (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has rejected the challenge to an official guidelines issued by the Director of Education (Secondary Uttar Pradesh), for non-funded colleges on verification of documents.

The petition stated that on July 10 the Director issued a guideline for verification of documents to ascertain the service period of teachers in non-funded secondary educational institutions. Those who have completed more than ten years of service should be exempted from document verification, added the petitioner.

The court said that the mandate is a general order and it is clear that the documents have to be verified according to law. The instructions given are fully administrative.

This order was delivered by the bench of the Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddharth Verma on a PIL filed by Avanindra Kumar Jha.

The court has dismissed the petition saying that there is no illegality in the issued guideline. “They are not arbitrary, unjust or in any manner in violation of fundamental rights of the petitioner,” said the Court while dismissing the petition.
