Chhattisgarh High Court stays department action against lady police sub-inspector

New Delhi (ILNS): The Chhattisgarh High Court has stayed departmental action initiated against woman sub-inspector for alleged negligence of duty in the maintenance of documents.

The sub-inspector has been working as the stenographer to the Director General of Police. She was posted to the Police Housing Board. 

When an allegation of negligence of duty in maintaining of records of employees was levelled against her, a departmental action was initiated against her.

In her petition before the high court, challenging the investigation being conducted against her, the sub-inspector claimed that she was not officially given any responsibility (of maintaining records) by the department. 

Justice P Sam Koshy has issued notice to other parties, including the state government, and sought replies. Any action being taken against the petitioner has been stayed.

The petitioner has also complained against the Additional Director General of Police Pawan Dev to the Women’s Commission. In this, she has accused of sexual abuse and mental torture. It is alleged that departmental action is being taken against the petitioner after her complaint.
