A Delhi court on Friday granted bail to former Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd (BPSL) CMD Sanjay Singal in a money laundering case connected to an alleged bank loan fraud.
The order was reserved on Thursday by Special CBI Judge Arun Bhardwaj after the conclusion of arguments on behalf of Singal and the Enforcement Directorate.
The ED had arrested Singh on November 22 last year under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after he was questioned in connection with the case. He had been under judicial custody since then.
The probe agency had earlier this month filed a charge sheet against Singal and others in the court of Bhardwaj.
It has attached properties allegedly belonging to Singal amounting to Rs 204 crore. The agency recently attached assets worth Rs 4,025 crore of BPSL.
