Delhi HC says driver unions cannot demand from Ola, Uber

The Delhi High Court on February 17 came down strongly on drivers of Ola and Uber cabs, saying that “driver unions cannot make any demands from Uber and Ola” and also directed the Joint Commissioner Traffic Police to “ensure peace on the roads and stop hooliganism.”

Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw of the Delhi High Court on February 17 ordered that “negotiations should come in a peaceful manner.” The Court also ordered Ola and Uber to hold peaceful meetings and resolve the issues.

The matter pertains to the recent strikes by taxi union against the cab service providers Ola and Uber. The issue was lower wages and low interest rates being provided to the drivers. The HC has earlier issued direction to restrain drivers agitating from blocking cabs.
