Delhi High Court extended all the interim orders till 15th May

Delhi High Court today taking Suo Moto Cognizance in a situation arose by COVID19 resulting into very limited operation of the courts ordered that interim orders issued subsisting as on 16 March and are expired or scheduled to expire will automatically be extended till 15 May.

The Hon’ble bench headed by the Chief Justice took the matter on its own motion in view of the 21 days nationwide lockdown due to spread of pandemic disease COVID19. Due to which there has been hearing of urgent matters only by the Delhi High Court and the Courts subordinate to it, regular matters have been adjourned to the month of April hence, the advocates and the litigants have not been able to appear in their matters that includes, matters in which stay, bails and paroles have been granted. Such interim orders in favor of parties have either expired or will be expiring on or after 16th March.

Whereas, the court taking necessary action in such extraordinary situation has ordered that all such interim orders shall extended till 15th May or until further orders, except any contrary order to such interim relief has been passed by the Supreme Court of India.
