Elders Committee of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association takes over the Association’s Administrative Authority to Help Advocates During COVID-19 Crisis

The Elders Committee of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association in consideration of the financial assistance required by lawyers in times of Covid-19 and the lockdown, has taken over the administrative authority of the association.

The administrative powers of the committee till now be in hands of the previous executive. However, a letter has been written by the Committee chairman VC Mishra to the High Court Bar Chairman Rakesh Pandey and General Secretary JB Singh informing them that the administrative powers given to them by the Elder Committee have been withdrawn.

Senior advocate VC Mishra has clarified that the consent of the High Court Bar Chairman Rakesh Pandey has been taken in this regard. It has also been decided that the accounts of the association would be governed by the signature of Elder Committee chairman VC Mishra and member NC Rajvanshi.

The decision of withdrawing the administrative powers given to the executive was taken by the Elder Committee during a telephonic conversation.

A petition regarding provision of financial assistance to the advocates and their Munshis, in wake of the current pandemic and the lockdown will also be filed before the Allahabad High Court  by TP Singh, another member of the Elder Committee, on behalf of the Association.
