Exempt advocates from toll tax across India: Saket Bar Association writes to CJI

In the letter, it is submitted that the advocate community is doing great service for society at large and providing the public a right path for achieving social justice and thus designated as officers of the court.

The Saket Bar Association has recently written to the Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana for exemption of advocates from toll tax across the country.

In the letter, it is submitted that the advocate community is doing great service for society at large and providing the public a right path for achieving social justice and thus designated as officers of the court.

The letter said that the advocates are part and parcel of the legal judicial system which is helping the judiciary in imparting justice at large and thus be provided exemption from toll tax throughout India considering their important role in the development of the country.

The letter further said that the advocate community has been suffering economically very badly for the last 1.5 years and thus getting difficulty paying toll tax during their movement in different parts of India. Hence they be given exemption from payment of toll tax across the country.

The Bar Association requested the Chief Justice of India to kindly pass a direction to authorities for exemption of advocates from toll tax across the country.
