Karnataka Court dismisses corruption charges against Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa

Corruption charges were levelled against Yediyurappa, his family members

A Special Court in Bengaluru on Thursday dismissed corruption charges levelled against Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and eight others.

The Court said in its order that the complaint is not maintainable in the absence of valid sanction, and accordingly dismissed.

President of Anti-Graft and Environmental Forum TJ Abraham had filed a complaint before the Special Court to take cognisance of offences under the PC Act against nine persons, including Mr Yediyurappa and some of his family members, and order investigation in relation to the allegation of getting bribe in relation to a contract given to a private company for a housing project of Bangalore Development Authority.
