Situation at Tis Hazari Court quickly turned for the worse today when an argument between a cop and a lawyer outside the lock-up compound on a parking issue reportedly turned from a ‘scuffle’ to end with the former shooting the latter.

A vehicle of the Delhi Police was set ablaze by a mob of angry lawyers. Lawyers later protested in the court premises on the breach committed by the police personnel.

The injured lawyer has been rushed to St. Stephens Hospital and news on him is awaited. Fire engine and police reinforcements have been called to handle the scenario.

Situation however is ‘under control’ according to Advocate Umesh Gupta, election candidate for Joint Secretary of Delhi Bar Association.
