The RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya should not be seen as a win or loss for one side or the other.

“We welcome this decision of Supreme Court. This case was going on for decades and it has reached the right conclusion. This should not be seen as a win or loss. We also welcome everyone’s efforts to maintain peace and harmony in society,” he said while addressing a news conference in the capital hours after the verdict was read out in the apex court.  He added: “RSS welcomes the verdict. We want to thank all advocates. The people of India also deserve congratulations.”

While appealing to the people to express their “joy in a measured manner”, Bhagwat said, “We will all come together and fulfill our role for the construction of the Ram Mandir. This case was going on for decades and it has reached the right conclusion. This should not be seen as a win or loss. We also welcome everyone’s efforts to maintain peace and harmony in society.”
