Madhya Pradesh HC directs Hoshangabad SP to probe railway worker’s harassment complaint

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the Superintendent of Police to investigate the matter of harassment of railway personnel by the police.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the Superintendent of Police to investigate the matter of harassment of railway personnel by the police. The case was heard before a single-judge bench of Justice Sanjay Dwivedi.

During the hearing, Advocate Ashish Trivedi, Aseem Trivedi and Apoorva Trivedi appeared on behalf of the petitioner Treasurer Rajkumar Prajapati of Itarsi resident railway worker Sai Fortune City Society.

He contended that the petitioner is being harassed by Sandeep Yadav, Deputy Inspector of Police Station, Itarsi along with Ramnarayan Chugh, former president of the society. In the guise of a false complaint, the petitioner is being repeatedly humiliated by calls from the police station, demanding money.

The complaint was made to Superintendent of Police Hoshangabad. Despite this, concrete action remained absent. That is why the High Court was approached, said the petitioner.

The High Court was made aware that since losing the election against Rajkumar Prajapati, Ramnarayan has started to have a bad temper. He first went to civil court. From where there is no relief, now they are busy colluding with the police to harass the petitioner. A fake complaint was filed under this. Based on the same, the petitioner is being called to the police station and being harassed with indecency.

The Counsel claimed the petitioner is very hurt by this incident and is being abused. A curb on mental harassment is necessary. Also action is required against the culprits.

After considering the entire matter, the High Court disposed of the petition with the instruction that the Superintendent of Police should take the complaint seriously and ensure investigation. No negligence should be made in this regard.
