Petition before Madhya Pradesh High Court seeks stay on release of short film ‘Priya’ on late actor Sushant Singh Rajput

New Delhi (ILNS): A petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking a stay on the release of the short film ‘Priya’ made on late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The petition filed by Mahesh Kumar Vishwakarma, resident of Sharda Vihar Colony, Jabalpur, stated that a 30-minute short film has been made by Jabalpur Flix Film Production on the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The film will be screened at Samadadia Mall in Jabalpur tomorrow.

The petition claimed that the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has not been resolved yet. The CBI is investigating the case. Therefore, the release of the film should be banned.

Advocate KK Rajak appeared on behalf of the petitioner.

The petition further states that the late Sushant Singh Rajput was a talented actor. He made Dhoni’s character immortal. He also acted in other films. That is why there was no shortage of fans. His fans have long been sceptical about his mysterious death.

Sushant’s case has been overshadowed in the media too recently.  Various claims and counter-claims have emerged. Meanwhile, one class is not ready to accept suicide, while another class is bent on proving suicide. In such a situation, any deficiency in showing the life of Sushant through the film can affect the trial. So, until the court verdict is reached, the film trial is expected to ban the film’s release, urged the petitioner.
