PIL in Chhattisgarh HC against illegal occupation of Naya Raipur land

According to the PIL , the Petitioner was operating the Dhaba in village Umaria. She was later asked to vacate the land as she was in possession of government land. The Petitioner vacated the occupation at the behest of the regime.

A PIL has been filed in the Chhattisgarh High Court against the illegal occupation of government land reserved for Naya Raipur in the capital.

The PIL has been filed by Harjeet Kaur, a resident of Raipur district, through Advocate Puneet Ruparel.

According to the PIL, the petitioner was operating a dhaba in village Umaria. She was asked to vacate the land as she was in possession of government land. The petitioner vacated the occupation at the behest of the government.

Later, in the same area, a large amount of government land has been illegally occupied and houses were built in and around Village Umaria of Arang Tehsil area, alleged the petitioner.

The petitioner then gathered information from the Department of Revenue and complained on November 4, 2020, after taking record of government land. But no action was taken on her complaint. Aggrieved by this, the petitioner approached the High Court.

The petition states that the government land has been occupied by private individuals. They have occupied 9.250 hectares situated in light number 00023 of Umaria in Arang tehsil. Similarly, 0.7700 hectares of land in the revenue circle temple of Hassaud is in the name of NRDA, has also been occupied.

In her petition ,she has made the state government as well as the Raipur Collector, Naya Raipur Development Authority, SDM Arang, Tehsildar Temple Hasoud and the occupying private persons Jogan Joshi, Vishwajit Joshi, Vivek Joshi, Tikeshwari Joshi, Rajkumar Saw as respondents.

Chief Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon issued notice to the private parties, including the state government, Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA), seeking their reply.
