Punjab and Haryana High Court disposes of PIL seeking restoration of all passenger trains at Tandwal Railway station in Ambala district

The Punjab and Haryana High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking direction to the respondents to restore all passenger trains at Railway Station Tandwal, District Ambala, which were suspended due to outbreak of Covid-19 Pandemic.

The PIL is filed by one Kamaljeet.

Upon being served with the advance copy of the petition, Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India with Somesh Gupta, Senior Panel Counsel, for the Union of India is present in Court.

He submits that let this petition be disposed off, at this stage, to enable the authorities to examine the concerns/grievances that are sought to be raised by the petitioner.

And, he submits that necessary measures/decision in this regard, if feasible, shall be taken by the authorities, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three months.

To this, counsel for the petitioner submits that let the petition be disposed of in terms of the statement made by learned Senior counsel for the respondents.

The Division Bench of Justice Arun Palli and Justice Mahabir Singh Sindhu accordingly disposed of the PIL.
